Luke graduated from Lincoln College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Commerce (VFM). in 1986 he obtained diploma in horticultural science majoring in discounted cash flow analysis for orchards. He was the first recipient of the NZIV postgraduate scholarship which culminated in the publishing of a booklet on horticultural valuation.
From 1986 through to 1988 he was an appraiser with the Rural Bank dealing with a wide range of rural based industries. From August 1988 to March 1989 he was a commercial analyst with the ASB Bank Limited. From March 1989 through to February 1991 he was the sole internal commercial / industrial valuer for ASB Bank Limited. From February 1991 to December 1995 he was the supervising valuer for the Bank.
From the end of 1995 to the end of 2004, he was a senior partner of Albion Banks Valuation Limited. A wide range of properties including commercial and industrial were valued over this time. For the year of 2005 he was a technical manager for ANZ Bank Limited. This was a valuation role perusing valuation reports on a wide range of commercial and industrial property while providing in depth risk analysis for the Bank. From 2006 onwards he formed and managed his own practice ACL Valuations Limited.
He joined Hollis and Scholefield in May 2023 and specialises in the commercial/industrial/retail market in Warkworth and the wider Rodney District. He holds dual ANZIV/SPINZ status and has been a registered valuer for over 33 years.
