Steve, originally from Otago, commenced valuing in the Rodney & Kaipara Districts soon after graduating from Lincoln University in 1994. Became Registered in 1997 and obtained his Associate membership in 1999. He focuses primarily on the residential, rural residential and coastal areas. Locations with considerable experience include Leigh, Mathesons Bay, Omaha, Point Wells, Matakana, Snells Beach, Algies Bay, Scotts Landing, Warkworth & Kaipara Flats.

Outside of work Steve enjoys following rugby, playing squash and many other outdoor pursuits.

Steve lives near Kaipara Flats village with wife Kara and their young son.

Guy Scholefield - Dip VFM FNZIV FPINZ Registered Valuer
A passionate main-lander, born and raised in Southland, Guy went to school and University in Christchurch then joined the Valuation Department in 1969 in Hamilton.

Guy worked several years in Te Kuiti and Auckland before joining Ray Hollis in 1978 to form Hollis & Scholefield.

Guy's focus has been on bringing the younger Valuers through and is  really pleased at how Steve and Gareth have taken all the responsibility on board.

Shirley and Guy were married in 1970 and have two children. Guy has played all sports over the years including tennis & squash. He enjoys travelling and boating, bike riding and croquet.

Gareth Nicholl - B ApplSc RVM ANZIV MPINZ Registered Valuer
Gareth is originally from Gisborne.  He joined HSL in 2002 as a graduate  and has gone on to obtain registration and his associate qualifications.

He values coastal, lifestyle blocks, residential, commercial and industrial properties in the North Rodney area, from the Dome Valley north as well as the entire Kaipara District and over the Brynderwyns to Langs Beach and Waipu. 

Gareth lives in Warkworth with wife Renee.

He enjoys most sports, particularly cycling, rugby and squash.

Ray  has always had a particular focus on Farm Management and started work as a farm advisor in 1969 in Maungaturoto, progressing to registration as a Valuer. In 1978 Guy Scholefield joined Ray and a very successful partnership began. Their work was complimentary, with Guy’s expertise in Valuation and Ray's in Farm management.

Ray's interests outside work have been mainly centered on family and community and has a long association with SYC (Sandspit Yacht Club) where he owned and moored a yacht for 30 years. Ray has owned a farm in northern Rodney for nearly 20 years, which he has recently developed to ensure sustainable productive and conservation land use while providing a unique environment for rural residential living. Grace farm is an expression of Ray and his wife Pam, what they have learned over the years and what they would like to leave as an inheritance of good land use.

Mike Morse - B Ag Com, ANZIV SPINZ Registered Valuer

Mike graduated from Lincoln University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Agricultural Commerce and spent 5 years valuing in Hawkes Bay.

Moved to Auckland and then to Orewa in 1985 where he has practiced as a Valuer ever since. Work experience has been predominantly rural/lifestyle block and residential valuation including coastal land and development blocks for a wide variety of purposes.

Mike lives at Wainui with his wife and 2 teenage children. Personal interests include a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including hunting, fishing, orienteering and keeping up with his kids and their sports.
